Alkaline Phosphatase

Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) is a GPI-anchored protein that hydrolyzes phosphate groups from various molecules under alkaline conditions. In GPI biosynthesis disorders, ALP may be abnormally released into the bloodstream as a soluble form, often resulting in elevated serum levels (hyperphosphatasia).
